Oprah Winfrey announced on her TV show that Marianne Williamson was lecturing on a Spiritual Journey through Oprah’s XM radio. Marianne invited anyone who had had a transformation from pain to peace in their lives to send their essay through Oprah.com. I went on the Oprah website and submitted my letter. This was my first letter I wrote directly from my heart. To my surprise and delight, my letter was selected from among the thousands and then beautifully read on…..

“I am beginning to suspect all elaborate & special systems of education. They seem to me to be built upon supposition that every child is an idiot who must be taught to think. Whereas, if the child is left to himself, he will think more and better, if less showily. Let him come and go freely, let him touch real things and combine his impressions for himself…” ‒Helen Keller Those with a formal higher education who have earned degrees worked…..

“She took some of its fruit and ate it; and she also gave some to her husband,  who was with her, and he ate it.” -Genesis 3:6   The Power of Love My parents had been very strict, raising us with morals and values through the word of God, rather than in the ways of the world. Those values stayed with me and I still practice them as much as possible with my own children. I feel blessed that I’ve…..

” We have to imagine being in their heart and walking in their shoes to hear what they are saying.”

With 23 years between my two children, I entered a different world in 1995 when my second child was born, of the demands and responsibilities put upon children from their own parents. Back in 1971, the over-achiever parenting style was unknown by me.  However, as a new old-schooled mom, I was unfamiliar and terribly confused with the aggressive parenting style that I continued to offer my second child similar choices as my first, which initially came from my mother’s devout…..

Seeing Through God’s Eyes

Seeing Through God’s Eyes    No matter how faithful we may be, we cannot always see the full picture or understand why things are happening as they are. We may feel frustrated that our dreams and visions  have been postponed by the immediate needs around us, but once we are able to  expand our spiritual awareness, we become better able to see what has been there all along: God’s vision for us and those around us.   As we stretch…..

Fairly New Theory Has a Name Shortly after becoming a member on Red Room, I began posting my personal experiences of finding a genre that was related to my book Imprinted Wisdom that I was working on at that time. I realized now that I kept questioning myself, since I honestly didn’t fit into any one genre, religion, or organization until I found the Society of Emotional Intelligence. It dawned on me that emotional intelligence is the genre of all our stories. I have…..

I have found that through prayer, meditation, repentance, purification, forgiveness, and being nonjudgmental, our minds become peaceful and calm. These practices help us to muffle the noise of the outside world that can distract us from God’s presence, which lives in all of us. Not being distracted helps us to focus on that which serves our highest purpose, which God intends for us. When we follow God’s guidance, our actions bring joy, not only to ourselves, but to the rest…..

Recognition of Each Other  Anyone who knows the word of God and has heard that voice inside them has been changed. Most people do not see or hear this change that has taken root after much weeding and planting, but those who do have also been similarly changed by God. And all of these changed individuals recognize this difference in one another, as it cannot be hidden or contained, for it is constantly expanding. It is forever moving us to a greater…..

A peace that surpasses all understanding . . . Philippians 4:6-8   Considering what I’d been through, I would rather die than go back to the way I’d lived before; it had been sheer hell for me. But perhaps I’d had to experience hell to know peace. There had been no place where I could run to, nor any doctor who could have stopped my pain. That’s because no doctor can heal the wounds that live in our thoughts. My emotional pain…..
